Competition - Win Benedict’s Bracelet
One of the most asked questions I’ve received over the past few months is “where does Benedict get his leather bracelet from?” The black leather bracelet with entwined silver braid has graced his wrist on many a red carpet and photo shoot. So I decided to find out a little more about it.
The bracelet is made by SwedArt - a business run by the lovely Margareta Lidskog. Margareta is originally from Sweden and now resides in the US. SwedArt bracelets are authentic Sami bracelets and most are made in Lapland near the Arctic Circle. The indigenous Sami people inhabit the Arctic area of Sápmi of which Northern Sweden is a part. You can find out more about the 10,000 year old Sami culture here
Margareta takes enormous pride in the quality of her bracelets and she works with a small handpicked group of skilled Swedish artisan friends. The bracelet Benedict wears is what she calls the “original Sami bracelet”. It is handmade from vegetable tanned black reindeer (caribou) leather with a pewter and silver braid and finished with a hand carved antler button. Since Benedict started wearing it, Margareta has been inundated with orders from all over the world and has sent the bracelet to Benedict’s fans in 18 different countries!
SwedArt is a real labour of love for Margareta and designing new styles is a passion of hers. Her SwedArt Collection with over 100 designs is hugely popular, gracing the wrists of countless celebrities. She’s also been invited to personally attend and sponsor Emmy Awards and Golden Globes gifts lounges. You can see photo albums containing images of Benedict and other celebs wearing SwedArt on her Facebook. SwedArt bracelets have sold to 39 different countries over the past 7 years!
You can order Benedict’s bracelet (B12 Sami, black, 9 mm wide, $69 USD) from SwedArt either via the Etsy SwedArt shop or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your snug wrist measurement. They will add ½” (12-13 mm) to this measurement for a perfect fit. Margareta ships both from Sweden and USA and she accepts credit card payments and PayPal.
Margareta has very generously provided two Sami bracelets (of the style worn by Benedict) which can be won by two lucky followers. To enter simply send an email to email@example.com headed SwedArt Competition.
One entry per household. Competition is open worldwide. Winners are picked by random draw. Competition closes 1 August 2013.
